Part 4- Fundamental Barriers for Widespread Adoption of Electric Vehicles
To be clear, I am not suggesting that EV owners in China never bring their cars out of their garages or parking spots. It is just that car owners living in urban megalopolises drive significantly shorter distances and less often than their equivalents in USA or even west European countries. This fact has a huge effect on how much domestic EV charging strains the residential electric supply grid. To put it another way, Chinese megalopolises can support a noticeably higher number of EVs because they are charged less often.
Part 5- Fundamental Barriers for Widespread Adoption of Electric Vehicles
Hence a single 40-outlet supercharger station has same power draw as about 1000-1200 houses, and this brings up the next question, how would the power draw from such a highly variable drain affect the stability of local electricity network? This becomes an especially relevant question as building it in a suburban area of a city would be much cheaper than in its urban or commercial parts of that city. How can we ensure consistent electric supply to the suburb subdivision around a supercharger station sharing the power distribution network if the power draw is so large and only semi-predictable? Putting supercharger stations on their own grid simply pushes the underlying problem to a different part of power system.
Part 6- Fundamental Barriers for Widespread Adoption of Electric Vehicles
At this point, I should be clear that these pathetic, short-sighted and failed attempts at money and power-grab by over-socialized sociopathic “theater kids” are not harmless. As mentioned before, their actions have resulted in some west European countries such as Germany, UK etc spending hundreds of billions for erecting worthless wind-turbines, solar arrays, unnecessary tinkering with electricity distribution system etc. Their actions have also started to cause serious damage to many power-intensive industries in Europe, car manufacturers and their suppliers and much more. So these PMC parasites have caused a lot of resource misallocation and hurt the future of their own countries.
Enjoy!
