Why East-Asian Bureaucracy Beats its Western Equivalent
The western bureaucratic tradition selects and promotes clever conartists and liars who are good at subverting rules, regulations and protocols to climb through the system. This is why most western bureaucrats have degrees in the liberal arts rather than science, engineering or technical disciplines. Even the lower levels of western bureaucracy is populated by people who are good at following obscure rules and regulations that getting anything done, let alone help develop anything that is new and useful. This is why western bureaucrats are often correctly described as ‘paper pushers’.
Age of Political Leadership Isn’t the Cause of Western Governmental Dysfunction
As I have said many times before, the only difference between Trump and all those other supposedly ‘proper’ presidents is that he is more transparently greedy, corrupt, vain, dumb and willing to prostitute himself to his donors and financial backers. The others were better at putting on the skin-suit of normal human beings. Replacing Trump with some soft-talking Democrat in 2028 is not going to change anything or stop the now obvious decay and decrepitude of USA. Similarly, no number of new elections in countries such as UK, Germany, France, Italy etc will change their ever accelerating downward spiral.
